Domestic violence can affect anyone. We look at the support available to men in Wales.
Most cases of domestic violence in Wales are done by men to women. Yet there are a significant number of cases where the victims are male. Indeed there are several charities, organisations and helplines set up to support men experiencing domestic violence.
However, you may be wondering why we have focussed on males experiencing domestic violence on FamilyPoint Cymru. It is for the reason that there is often a greater stigma around men accessing support than for women. Also the organisations that deal with it are often less well known than the support services available for women, such as Live Fear Free and Welsh Women’s Aid. Therefore we thought we’d put together a quick list on the services that are out there to support men.
The Dyn Project provides support to heterosexual, gay, bisexual and trans men in Wales who are experiencing domestic abuse from a partner. As well as a website and email support they have a free helpline:

The Dyn Project is run by Safer Wales.
UK charity supporting male victims of domestic abuse. They run a confidential helpline for male victims of domestic abuse and domestic violence.

A confidential helpline for any man experiencing domestic violence and abuse from a partner (or ex-partner).

Hafan Cymru provides support services for men experiencing domestic abuse. This is includes young men and male headed single parent households. Hafan Cymru support men from the following locations:
