Gingerbread and the Money Advice Service have joined up to run Family Finance, a free online training courses for single parents. These courses support single parents with managing their family finances. This is timely as household debt is rising and Universal Credit rolls out across Wales. FamilyPoint made a series of videos last year on the rollout of Universal Credit in Wales.

The training includes ways to make your money go further, tips on borrowing and saving, as well as a family budget planner. It is completely free and Gingerbread staff support single parents throughout the day. Participants will also become more familiar with online tools for managing money. The course takes up to 2.5 hours and is completed in half a day, so either a morning or an afternoon.

How to apply for Family Finance course

The courses are running on a rolling basis throughout south Wales. If you’re interested get in touch with Gingerbread to find one near you. Gingerbread’s number is 02920 471900. Or you can email them –

The only criteria for the Family Finance course is that you are a single parent in Wales.
