The Family Information Service

The Family Information Service (FIS) is the first point of contact for local information and advice for parents and families.

They provide information and support about services including childcare (and costs), health, things to do, additional needs, education, parenting and more.

They can link you with groups in your area and expert advice and support services where needed.

Flying Start

Flying Start provides a range of services to families to help their children get the best start in life.

If you live in a Flying Start area with a child under 4 years of age you are entitled to parenting support.

You can access free part-time childcare for 2-3 year olds, parenting support, enhanced Health Visiting service and support for your child’s speech, language and communication.

Communities First

The Communities First programme supports people who want to improve their local area.

They operate in 52 areas in Wales, working with organisations and the local community to arrange and deliver a range projects and activities.

The programme is helping communities to be healthier, develop skills and become better informed.

  • Day Out With The Kids – A simple and fun website to find somewhere to take the kids for a great family day out. Contains information on attractions, a section on baby facilities in each attraction and some of the most common questions answered by those who actually run the attractions.
