Encouraging better behaviour: positive parenting tips

Ever wondered how to get through shopping without the tantrums? Or bedtime without the battles?

Last week, Communities and Tackling Poverty Minister, Lesley Griffiths, launched a new parenting campaign called Parenting: Give It Time, with a dedicated website and Facebook page offering useful ideas and information for parents.

FamilyPoint attended the launch of this new campaign at Mount Stuart Primary School in Cardiff Bay, and here are some tips from parents who were there:

Nobody has all the answers and there is no such thing as a perfect parent. However, psychologists have found the positive parenting style is most likely to help children grow up happy and learn well, said Lesley Griffiths.
