About Powys Flying Start

Flying Start is the targeted Early Years programme for families with children under 4 years of age in certain parts of Wales and is based on postcodes.

The core elements of the programme are to influence positive outcomes for children and their families.

These include:

  • Free quality, part-time childcare for 2-3 year olds
  • An enhanced Health Visiting service
  • Access to Parenting Programmes
  • Early Language Development

Who is this for?

Flying Start is a targeted programme which means that it is only available in 5 geographic areas in Powys. A strict postcode eligibility criteria does apply. To find out whether Flying Start operates in your area please phone the Flying Start team.
