Where to go: Best picnic locations in Wales
Here are a few of the popular perfect free locations for a picnic in various parts of Wales.
Afan Valley Trail, Neath Port Talbot
Talacre Beach, Flintshire
Elan Valley Trail, Powys
Silver Bay, Anglesey
Bute Park, Cardiff
Rhossili Bay, Swansea
What to pack: Essential picnic items
Ensure that you take ice packs with you to pack with any meats or chilled foods to ensure food safety.
A pack of wipes will always come in useful when kids are around.
Always useful to take any litter away or to dispose of it easily in any bins nearby.
Plenty of drinks
Being outside in sunny weather is thirsty work in itself, but no doubt that your children will be active during the picnic. They will need lots of fluids to keep them hydrated.
Sun cream and hats
Keeping safe in the sun is always important therefore remember to take appropriate sun creams and sun hats for your children.
Take an appropriate blanket with you with enough space for you all to sit down.
Plates, knives and forks will always come in useful.
These have so many uses in the outdoors. Use them on top of your drink to keep the bugs at bay. Just stick a straw through the middle and it will protect your drink all day. Or use as a perfect mini plate for your children to catch any melting ice lollies/ice cream.
