About Torfaen Flying Start

Flying Start is for families with children under 4 years of age and is available to families living in specific postcodes in Torfaen.

The programme helps parents to give their children a Flying Start in life

This includes:

  • Free quality, part-time childcare for 2-3 year olds
  • An enhanced Midwifery and Health Visiting service
  • Access to Parenting Programmes
  • Early Language Development

This programme is for families with children under 4, living in the areas in which it runs.

Who is this for?

The Flying Start areas in Torfaen currently include certain postcodes within the following areas:

  • Blaenavon
  • Garndiffaith
  • Pontnewynydd
  • Trevethin, Penygarn and St Cadocs
  • Cwmynyscoy
  • Thornhill
  • St Dials
  • Fairwater
  • Greenmeadow
  • Northville
