About Vale of Glamorgan Families First
Families First in the Vale of Glamorgan provides support to families with children who are facing difficulties, particularly those with low-incomes.
Families First provides different types of support to the whole family depending on what your needs are through projects, activities and training from the council, charities and other organisations.
In the Vale you’re likely to first encounter Families First through what’s called the FACT Team (Families Achieving Change Together). Here’s a leaflet explaining a little bit more about what they do and it is FACT’s contact details that are provided.
Some of the projects that Vale of Glamorgan Families First supports are:
– Raising awareness of welfare rights
– Family support programme
– Disability Focus
– Partnership for Young Parents
– Putting Families First
– Young people support programme
– Young carers
– The C-Card Scheme
– Family mentoring and volunteering
Who is this for?
Children, Young people (aged 0-18) and their families from the Vale of Glamorgan, who may benefit from additional support to overcome difficulties and make positive change.
If you’re not eligible for Families First, there may be other services that are available to you. Please contact Vale of Glamorgan FIS to find out.
